If you love history about transportation, then a London excursion of the under-ground railway sites; Green Park, Picadilly Lane and Hyde Park Corner will surely facinate you. Artistic Outpost's rubber stamps brings to life the nostalgia of London and the glory days of this railway.
I decided to fabricate more of an altered art piece. Gesso, Canvas, an old piece of puzzle. I had fun trying out a new medium from Scrapbooking Fanatics online store.. Tim Holtz Distress Stains. The green background under the puzzle piece, is a technique which one I found on Technique Junkies Newletter... a stampers best friend.. (December 2009) called "Bleached Swipes" .

Connie here to share a card I made using some of the latest releases of Artistic Outpost Stamp Collections: Loverly London and Emphemeral Backgrounds.
London, is known, for its history of architectual beauty of the Tower Bridges, their later day commmunications of the morse code - the telegraph; and, the exuberant men's and women's clubs. These London stamp collections really take you back to this era.

Techniques and Supplies
I used the Technique Junkies "Glimmer Mist Spray" technique..The Vellum background was created using sea sponges and water base ink. I simply glided the sponges in diagonal fashion across the vellum...
I dusted off my "Bazzill Basic - In Stitch'z" plastic piercing mat off the rack...to create the oval stitching along the side. Love these plastic templates, I can see so many possiblities to create dazzling stitching patterns on paper.
The ornate hanging sign holder is from Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz Die Cuts.

The background layer on this card was created employing various mediums with two separate techniques: Glimmer Mist Water Color and Cuttlebug Highlights The next layer is a fun technique applying Createx and Luna lights paints on black glossy Cardstock..The Tim Holtz Sizzix/Alteration (Bigz) Elegant Flourishes die cut is painted with Folk Art Metallic Blue paint and Ranger Distress Stickles. Tattered Angels Glimmer mist sprays were applied in all layers....
The image on this card is from the all famous collection called "Gatsby" from Artistic Outpost Stamps.

Hello to all my blogging friends and readers. I took a break over the winter months from crafting and blogging. I am happy to be back in blog land and creating with these wonderful stamps from Artistic Outpost. A little quote for you to enjoy from "Alice in Wonderland"

The Garden of Live Flowers

`Are there any more people in the garden besides me?'

Alice said, not choosing to notice the Rose's last remark.

`There's one other flower in the garden that can move about like you,' said the Rose. `I wonder how you do it -- ' (`You're always wondering,' said the Tiger-lily), `but she's more bushy than you are.'

Yes everyone would like to be a queen; and, "If the Crown Fits" and we know it will.. then Queens we shall be!! The background on my card was created using a Technique from Pat's Stamps Technique Junkies called "Mono Masking".

The floral frame with Alice in the middle, is a stamp from Artistic Outpost's popular: "Wonderland Collage".
For the background I used a beautiful mini background stamp from "Jane's Countryside" and the ornate butterfly is from the Artistic Outpost stamp plate, called "Happiness".

Basic Grey Collection - PYRUS

I did this scrapbook page of my son-in-law and grandson, sitting by the pond feeding the Geese. What better patterned paper to showcase fall photos, than Basic Grey's Pyrus line..The fonts are various collections of chipboard from Basic Grey.

I used my Zutter Diztress-it-all gizmo (love this machine) on the edges of the Cardstock and then painted with white acrylic paint...

Bloggers Challenge Recycle - Tutorial Using Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks on Plastic and Basic Grey Pyrus Paper Line

Hello to fellow bloggers....This weeks challenge is to create your artwork implementing a medium that is recycled. Thank you Lisa Somerville for this challenge....I love going outside the box and rethinking how to salvage and create mediums slated for the garbage into a new piece of art.

Today I have a tutorial and Scrapbook layout that I did for the Scrapbooking Fanatics online Store. I would like to show you how to salvage plastic from packaging material...using the amazing Ranger Alcohol Inks.

The the large Alpha letters and leaves on my layout below are the finished products demonstrating what you can do with Ranger Alcohol Inks and Clear Plastic.

Basic Grey: The Pyrus Collection

The journal card is from " October Afternoon - Farm Fresh: Wild Card. This layout is of our special boy Arron, he is such a poser and worked very hard to compile and preserve all these leaves for my photo shoot. Patterned Paper is from the Basic Grey Pyrus Collection Line. I love how the leaves and large journaling fronts harmonized perfectly with this paper line.

You will need the following products:

Applicatior with felt pad, Tim Holtz Blending Solution and Ranger Alcohol Inks. Why not try the new Brights and Lights collections, these colors lend quit a unique colorant spectrum when applied to Glossy Cardstock and Clear Plastic.

You can use any Recycled Plastic, my samples came from all my Tim Holtz Texture Fades Folders...nary a scrap of plastic goes in my garbage can. I use a pair of craft scissors and cut into flat pieces so they are ready to use.

My favorite products Tim Holtz Alterations line: Sizzix Bigz Dies, these dies can cut through the heavy plastic like butter.

Another staple product I use is my Ranger Non Stick Craft Sheet. This product is extremely durable, flexible and heat resistant. Just wipe and reuse again.

First Step

Apply two to three colors of Tim Holtz®Adirondack® Alcohol Inks

along with Blending Solution to the Applicator with the felt pad attached.

Fourth Step

The first picture is of a few samples I did trying to achieve the Tonal Harmony of Fall Colors. Next step, chose your Tim Holtz Bigz Dies and cut with your machine. Almost finished...!!!!

Final Step

I adhere the Plastic Diecuts to white cardstock. I love to use white cardstock as it showcases the vibrancy of Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks. To adhere the two diecuts together I stipple the Ranger Glossy Accents with an old brush onto the white cardstock.

I now have some finished pieces, ready to embellish Cards, Altered Art and or Scrapbook pages.

Lisa challenges us to explore creative avenues that we may have not have discovered on our own. I know I would not have used the color orange with this photo...thanks Lisa..
I took this photo many years ago...of my grandaughter...she was quite a fashion diva and loved to pose for Grandma ( sometimes).. I am amazed by all the varied hues of orange and how these colors curiously spot-light the black and white photo. Adding this color prominently brought attention to those beautiful and inquisitive eyes.

Pyrus Collection with Faux Designer Paper

This scrapbook page is of my oldest daughter with her first born...they look so cuddly snuggled together at the park feeding the geese...I created my own background paper by Distressing with ink pads, using various colors of Tim Holtz Distress inks. I wanted to merge some harmony between the Pyrus patterned paper and the photos...The leaf vine in the right corner is from the Sticker sheet, The two Birds are from the Pyrus Chipboard package and I love...love the the Pyrus 'Take Note' embellishements..

This layout is of my youngest daughter and her two children; an early morning pose, on the First Day of School. I used Delilah Chipboard Fonts for the word "Rock". All layers of patterned paper and the word 'FAMILY', are from the Pyrus Collection line. As well, I used the Chipboard Embellishments that go with this collection..What's not to love...when you are Falling in love with FALL using this collection line.

Snowy Woods from Arstistic Outpost

One of my favorite Vintage Santa stamps from Artistic Outpost, "Snowy Woods"...this stamp plate reflects the mood of a Nostalgic Christmas.

The brown strip is a torn piece of the cardboard from my pizza box that I use when spraying Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Spray; ironically it happened to be brown.. I used a method called CuttleBug Hightlights from Technique Junkies with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Texture Fades embossing folder: "Bricked and Woodgrain". The beautiful crochet lace cotton trim is from Websters Pages... The flowers are from Prima Marketing.
The scalloped circle is was cut from a Nestabilities folder, called - Eyelet Circles. Both the Green and Blue backgrounds are Technique Junkies methods called "Bleached Swipes"...and then oversprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist sprays...
Inks used on this card were: Tim Holtz Distress inks, Archival Coffee, Ranger Pigment inks.

Tinkerbell and Neverland

" You know the place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming".

Don't you just love this Tinkerbell image!! I used a variety of stamping methods which I learned from the Technique Junkies Newsletter. My morped "Pinwheel " attempt is from the Aug/Sept 2010 issue. This technique was made on white glossy cardstock using the Alcohol Ink Splash technique form May 2010 TJNL. The metal background was made using my all favorite technique with Ranger Alcohol Inks, embossed with a Cuttlebug Folder and then sanding my piece of metal...I glaze the top with a light touch of Tim Holtz Distress Inks "Black Soot". This techie gives the appearance of a brushed metal look.
Now the good news is.!!!!!.....we have a Canadian Vendor that carries Artistic Outpost Stamps, take a gander over to Scrapbooking Fanatics...to see more of Artistic Outpost stamps.

Haunted Halloween - The Elegance of Witches

"At twelve o'clock, you must be ready, for by it's rays o'candlelight
on Halloween...... all things are bright".

I adore this vintage gal...she is the highlight of Haunted Halloween stamp plate. The Warhole technique from Technique Junkies Newsletter was the perfect design for this image. This adorable witch, stands gracefully with her broom and conveys a character of regal and noble status.

Artistic Outpost - Haunted Halloween

I have two cards to share and, exciting news. You can purchase Artistic Outpost stamps in Canada from Jayme at Scrapbooking Fanatics store.
I adore the new Haunted Halloween stamp plate and it's creative versatility.

The images are adaptable and co-ordinate beautifully with each other. Whether you are making cards, altered art or scrapbooking; you can produce a range of creative moods using different technnique with the same stamps.
I used skill-methods, which I learned from Technique Junkies Newsletter; Alcohol Ink Splash on (Wallpaper) 10-05, Creatiex Creations 04-08, Starburst 04-06 and Word Frames Aug/Sept 2010.
The image of the Vintage witch on the first card was done with a method of masking and then applying Tim Holtz distress inks with sponge daubers. This is one of my favorite methods I use to highlight my stamped image.

I love this line of stamps from Stampotique, " Queen of Life"...We are all queens of somthing.
The backgrounds on my cards are various methods using a variety of mediums from Technique Junkies Newsletter: Glimmer Mist Water Color Art - April/May 2010, Worn Wallpaper - Aug/Sept 2010.
I masked the image and sponged with an array of different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks. The embossed background was done with Tim Holtz Texture Fades Folder called " Patchwork".

I am a little late with Blogger's challenge...This week List Mom, Lisa Somerville challenged us to use the colors Red, Yellow and Green.
I designed a card using stamping methods: Blocked Collage, Faux Metal, and Pulled Glimmers which are all techniques from Technique Junkies.
I used Tim Holtz Distress inks and sticky notes to create my blocked collage background.
The stamps are from Artisitic Outpost " Steam Punk ".

Here is a card showcasing the Wonderland Collage stamp plate from Artistic Outpost Stamp Company.
I did a variance of techniques from Technique Junkies newsletter Bingo Blast for the background with the white embossing.
The images were cut out and mounted on a piece I did using Technicolor Dye Ink Method which is also a Technique Junkies - Technique.
The background behind the ornate frame is embossed Metal using Tim Holtz Texture Fades folder and applying Alcohol inks. After the metal is heat set, I apply a light sanding.
Other Embellishments:
Prima Flowers, Hiedi Swapp Glass Bird and Sizzix Big Die Cut Frame.

Hello to my readers...I have a scrapbook page to share.

I am partial to this layout because it is about my two girls and their dolls..Both of my daughters are now in their 30's and I am hoping they will appreciate this special picture I scrapbooked. To this day, my granddaughter enjoys these very dolls..

I did this as a challenge over at Scrapbooking Fanatics, earlier this Spring. Click HERE and see what the other gals did with this sketch.

I used patterned paper from an awesome company called: Crate Paper - the Paper Dolls Collection.

The edges of the blue Cardstock are whisped using a Method from Technique Junkies: called Whisped Frames with Distress Ink by Tim Holtz called Barn Door. This method does on show up very well..but is eye-popping IRL.

Twisted Sketches is an amazing place to get inspired and take part in the challenges..for both cardmaking and Scrapbooking.

The stamped image of the Rabbit is from Artistic Outpost " Wonderland Collage" stamp plate. The Butterflys and flowers stamped and embossed in white embossing powder are from Stampendous, Ruffles Flower and Ruffled Butterfly .

Blogger's Challenge - Recycle It -- Stamps by Impression Obession

Hello to blogger readers. I am posting a little late for Blogger's Challenge. List mom, Lisa Somerville gave us the creative experiment to design with material designated for recycling.. As crafters we tend to inhabit other's domains...like hubby's work bench. I kept mine simple, I save pieces of corrugated cardboard and old leather..You can see what other Blogger Players created by clicking HERE.
This altered piece is going to be a book cover for one of the little fellas in our family.
The little piece on the side is Faux Distress Paper...one of Technique Junkies techniques.
My first application of mediums to the cardboard was Gesso and then Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Chalk Board Sprays. Next I applied Ranger Crackle Paints: Antique, Bronze and Broken China. A few swipes of Tim Holtz Distress inks to finish my piece: Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, and Rusty Hinge. I heat set each of these applications with a Heat Gun.
The blue scallop is from Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix Line " On the Edge " border diecut called Scallops.
My journaling on the side...is my favorite product: Tim Holtz Ideology Film Strip...love this stuff. I added the EK Success Label Lingo stickers inside the film strip.
The two epoxy sticker on the main image are from K & Co " Life's Journey".

I stamped the image on Glossy White Cardstock with Ranger Archival Black ink and then heat set the ink.
For the sunset background I used Tim Holtz Distress inks: Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey, Peeled paint, Crushed Olive, Victorian Velvet.

Tim Holtz Texture Fades and Embossing on Metal with Alcohol Inks

I would like to share with you embossing on metal using the Big Shot Machine, Ranger Alcohol Inks and the new Tim Holtz Alterations line - Texture Fades embossing folders.
The Flourish in the last image is from Tim Holtz Alterations line, I covered the flourish with Gold Leaf flakes - from La D'ore and applied it with their liquid adhesive. The second image showcases a another wonderful Sizzix Die from the Tim Holtz Alterations line.. the Hearts and Wings Bigz Diecut. The journal embossed phrase, is from Stamper's Anonymous (Just Words) by Wendy Leach.
The Tim Holtz Distress inks used on this altered piece are: Barn Door, Shabby Shutters, Rusty Hinges, and Wild Honey.
Techniques:

This was a piece of Gold Metal which I applied Ranger Alcohol Inks with the Applicator and Blending Solution

Insert your Metal piece into Alterations Texture Fades...this particular folder is called Checker Boards. Be sure it is right side up.

Emboss your piece with the Big Shot Machine and then Trim as desired.

Gently sand your embossed metal using a light touch going in a circular motion. Continue to sand until you are satisfied with the look you have achieved...
TIP
For a brushed metal look, I use a make-up sponge and apply with a light application of Ranger's Black Archival Ink...in a light sweeping motion. You can also try using a colored Distress ink pad - Rusty Hinge. Heat set your creation with a heat gun. Be very cautious not to over heat the metal.

Here is another sample of a metal sheet I did, using Texture Fades folder called "Patch Work"

The Ranger Alcohol Ink combos are: Shell Pink, Salmon, Watermelon, and Raspberry. The second layer of Alochol Inks are: Aqua, Pool, Willow, Lemonade and Pitch black.

Hello fellow readers, today I have two cards to share I created using Artistic Outpost Stamps: Happiness and Send in the Clowns stamps plates.
I used a background technique from Technique Junkies called Pointillism from the December 2006 issue...Every Week Technique Junkies has a " Try that Technique Challenge"...click HERE to see what the other Desigers create. If you are not a subscriber, I highly recommend Technique Junkies...the name says it all.
My rendition of this method is a little washed out. The checkered piece on the Happiness card is embossed Metal using Tim Holtz Texture Fade Plates and Ranger Alcohol inks...I finished the piece with fine sand paper and then brazed the metal with Ranger Black Archival Ink, this gave my piece a brushed metal look.

The Flourish on the Clown is a diecut from Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix line called Elegant Flourishes.

I used La'D' Ore Metal Leaf Mixed applied with the Liquid Adhesive..applied to the flourish. The flower embellisments are from Basic Grey - Sunflower Rouge

My scrapbook page is of my grandson, peeking around the tree....isn't he a cutie!!! I was really happy with my photography, especially the way the camera captured the 'catch light' in those deep blue eyes.

I applied two techniques: The green background was done by applying various shades of green Ranger Alcohol Inks on white glossy Cardstock. I applied Ranger Alcohol inks to Tin/Metal and then embossed with Tim Holtz Texture Fades folders. Afterwards, I sanded the metal and then applied Ranger Archival Black ink with a sponge..just to give a faux brushed metal look.

Hello to my fellow readers, it is already Friday and time for Blogger's Challenge. List Mom, Lisa Somerville, gave us this photo to use as our inspriation. Be sure to click on this link HERE and see what other challeng players created. I love this photo, because it left it wide open with such a wonderful range of colors. Imagine having this bedroom!!!

This scrapbook page is of my son and my two grandchildren... There is nothing like scrapbooking these warm moments captured in a photo.
The patterned paper is from the Harmonie product line. I love how this these papers they seem to work with a variety of theme pages.

My last scrapbook page is of my father holding his greatgrandaughter, a proud moment for grandpa. Two babies born this year in my family; again, I am truly blessed..and a very good reason to buy more scrapbooking goodies.
The Patterned Paper on this layout is from Harmonie and the coral eyelet trim is from Websters Pages. I adhered stones into the centre of the eyelet holes...The large flower is from Prima: Fairyring - Coral Reef. I wanted to integrate some color to compliment my grandaughter's outfit. I sprayed the reverse side (white) of a Basic Grey Doilie with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Spray: Patina, what a perfect match. Jounaling fonts were diecut from my Cricut Expression Machine.

Finally, I am able to post to my blog, we have storms in surrounding areas and the internet is not working properly. I am a little late for blogger's challenge. This week, list mom Lisa Somerville, gave us challenge theme to create something "Patriotic". I had these parade pictures forever and decided to scrap them for the challenge. The photos depict what my sentiments are for Canada Day. I like to reflect on the people who built this land and our country roots; with a dash of a little Canadian humour. (eh!)

Whats not to love about Tim Holtz's new book " A Compendium of Curiosities" . Take a gander over to Studio L Three, they are having weekly challenges showcasing ideas from his book.

My two cards are a rendition, or should I say morphed attempts at Alcohol Ink Monoprint. I added another technique over top because I was not pleased with the outcome.. Alochol Ink Splatter came to the rescue and saved my two pieces.

I also recall this Technique from Technique Junkies CD 4 which was called Alcohol Ink Smoosh.

The intricate looking images on my cards are die-cuts from my Cricut Expression...using the Paris Cartridge...what beauuuuuuuutiful images.

Blogger's Challenge using the colors Blue and Kiwi

Hello fellow bloggers, I am a little late with Blogger's Challenge. List mom Lisa Somerville enlisted us with the task to incorporate the colors "Blue, White and Kiwi...of course I steered a little off the challenge...Click HERE to see what other challenge players created.
I did not have a Kiwi ink pad, so I improvised using Tim Holtz Distress inks on Glossy Cardstock.
My creative style for these two cards is a techie from Technique Junkies, called Background Whimsy - Dye Method. As you can see, I went crazy with Ranger's Inkessentials white pen.....this technique is highly addictive.

Graduation Cards for Bloggers's Challenge

The Graduate

It's bloggers challenge and I am a little late this week. Lisa Somerville, our group moderator, gave us the challenge to create Graduation Cards. It just so happened I needed cards for two very special gals..who have very different personalities.. Grab a coffee and take a tour HERE to view what other challenge players created.

Both cards were created using up snippits of backgrounds and pieces stamped waiting to be thrown together into a creation.

The first card is for my glamour gal...The background was created using a Tehnique Junkies Method from Ann Clarke called Alcohol Ink float..this is a very addictive technique using Ranger Alcohol Inks. I Distressed the Water Color paper with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

The Flower is from Innovative Stamp Creations and is stamped on Vellum and colored on the backside of the Vellum.

I hand-stitched the ribbon...(bad sewer I am) and gathered the ribbon for a different look..I do not know the name of the company that makes the image the 'Glamour Girl' is from. If any of my readers recognize this stamp, can you e-mail me...I would really appreciate this info, as I have two large sheets of these stamps.

The Bling Crystals are from Heidi Swapp: Martha's Borders.

The second card is for my rebel gal...image was downloaded from Vintage Clipart. I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, and Tim Holtz Distress Inks....Techniques for the Background are, again, from Technique Junkies, Glimmer Mist Water Color Art and Cuttlebug Highlights using Sizzix Texture Plates. The Flower Stamp is from Clearly Inspired Paper Inspriations (Perfect Paisley - SCS113). I love their stamps, they stamp wonderfully. The other stamps are from Stampin Up: Great Grads.

Scrapbook Layout Teddy Bear Flair

My scrapbook page, is of my darling grandson, who was trying to save his teddy bear from " getting a needle"..If you look closely you can see the thread hanging, grandma was attempting to mend the bear. This is what I "LOVE" about scrapbooking and capturing that moment.
I chose the ideal Patterned Paper for my photo, a georgous line, from Prima Marketing Inc.: Pastiche Collection -(Love Letter). I am finding the new Prima paper lines simply irresistible.
Techniques:
The paper background I created around the photo and matching strips along the bottom, are my attempts to create Faux Distress paper. My morphed creation, was a perfect match for this picture and paper. This technique conveyed a warm element on my layout.
I distressed the creamy colored cardstock with Tim Holtz inks, crumpled and sprayed water- repeating these steps, until I was happy with the textured appearance. At the end of this process, I sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmermist, Iridescent Gold, to give a warm and blended look to the finished Faux Distress Technique.
The Gears are dicuts from the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations line: Gadget Gears. I cut the gears from my old worn pizza box the top thin layer... that I use for spraying my pieces with glimmer mist...I painted the gears with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint: Broken China and Crackle Rock Candy. The corrugated effect of the cardboard combined with the overspray of glimmer mists and mingling the Crackle paint effect; were the perfect mediums for these die-cut gears...I layered the Gears dies with more Cardstock to give the impression of Faux Chipboard, a method from Techique Junkies April 2007 Newsletter. Oh it is fun to play and experiment. I love this craft.

I made this card for my Grandaughter a few weeks ago...unbeknown to me at the time that I made this card; that it was such a close match to the sketch. Gotta love when that happens.
The mediums and methods I used are: Warhole, Faux Designer Papers using square shapes, Water Color Distress and Wisped Frames; all of the mentioned techniques from Technique Junkies Newsletter..
The Film Strip Die cut is from Sizzix Bigz Diecuts for the Big Shot Machine....click HERE to see more Bigz dies. The inks are all from the Tim Holtz Distress line, which can be purchased at Scrapbookingfanatics Store.

Welcome to my blog, this posting is my regular Friday mission, Blogger's Challenge. List mom, Lisa Somerville gave us the task to co-ordinate the colors: Orange, Blue and Moss. I incorporated the color red, because I can't read instructions.....silly me.

The Background for all three cards was created, using a very addicting technique, from the Technique Junkies Newsletter 04-05 2010 issue. It is called, Glimmermist Watercolor Art. I used Tattered Angels Glimmermist sprays: Olive Vine, Burnt Red and Waterslide.

The Bird Cages and the Butterfly are diecuts from Sizzix Bigz Dies - the Tim Holtz Alterations Line. Whoa..ho...these dies are.. to die for...

The very vibrant colors you see on the butterfly and the bird cages are a technique using Ranger Alcohol Inks on white glossy cardstock...these inks are the jewels of all my mediums.

Now, if you have not tried the new Tim Holtz Distress inks ,you are really missing out...some of the colors in my creations are Bundled Sage, Barn Door, and Storm Sky. I stamp like I cook, everything goes into the pot.I love the Ranger Pigment inks...I stamped all images using Ranger Pitch Black pigment ink with clear Embossing Powder. The stamps on all of these cards are from Stamper's Anonymous - Tim Holtz line: Oddities - CMS - 083, Soulfull Journey CMS - 029, Fairy Tale Frenzy CMS - 058, Nature's Moments CMS - 001 and Nature's Discovery CMS - 046.

Hello fellow bloggers and readers. Yes it is Friday already and that means Blogger's Challenge time. Take a gander over HERE to feast your eyes on the different interpretations of this sketch, given to us by the group's list mom, Lisa Somerville.

As you can see, I wandered off a bit from the sketch, that's me...The background that the photo is placed on, started to be a card and I was not happy with it...Off to never, never land and it became a Scrapbook Page.

I am especially proud of this layout; as it showcases my very young -looking and I might add energetic mother...Who by the way, can work circles around anyone of us.

The patterned paper is from the Kioshi Collection Pack by Basic Grey. The Chip Stickers and Epoxy Stickers are also from the Kioshi Basic Grey line. The aqua blue photo matt, and large white journaling letters were die-cut from my Cricut Expression Machine using the StoryBook cartridge.

All of the products used on this layout are from a store, which I am proud to be a designer for: Scrapbookingfanatics.

Blogger's Challenge Alter It with Basic Grey Kioshi

Hello fellow bloggers, I have been MIA for a few weeks and really missing my online friends.

This weeks challenge, is, "Alter It"...I am behind, as some of my project is missing for this challenge. The Shadow Box is still drying with a third application of Ranger Crackle Paint. I thought I would post the layout anyway. This adorable little gal is my new grandaughter, she is such a darling and ever so tiny; we call her 'Sweet Pea'.

I am excited to announce that I am a Designer for an online Canadian Scrapbook Store called ScrapbookingFanatics. There is also a Scrapbookingfanatics blog. Designers will be posting their creations and wonderful talents.....Please stop by and we would love to hear from you.

For this layout, I used the new Basic Grey Line - called "Kioshi"...lovely paper for soft elegant pictures...The diecut lace doilie (Fancy), chipstickers, and Alpha's are all from Basic Grey. The E-Line Rhinestones and Flowers are made by Prima Marketing ( Cherry Blossom- Branches Jublilee)..

The cute little Bird on the side is a die cut from my Cricut Cartridge "Home Decor". The Bird was altered using the "Dabber Shimmers" technique from Technique Junkies.

Stamping Technique

I painted the Basic Grey Kioshi paper with Ranger Inkessentials Crackle Accents, and added a few strokes of Ranger Distress Crackle (Clear Rock Candy). I dried the pieces with my heat gun and then very gingerly crumbled the three pieces. I then distressed each piece with Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters, Dusty Concord and added Ranger lavender Stickles for some glitter. The picture does not do this technique justice, I found this very impressive when you want to add a torn and grungy look to your patterned paper.

Hello readers, the week has flown by and it is already time for Blogger's Challenge. This week's theme given to us by list mom, Lisa Somerville, was to "Think Spring". You can feast your eyes on many inspiring creations HERE fashioned by other challenge players.

My first card show-cases a Stampin Up Background stamp called Bodacious, which is already retired...I am so happy I have this one..

The techniques for both cards are a many methods learned from the Technique Junkie Newsletter: Alocohol Ink Float, Cuttlebug Highlights, Mono Dies and Marker Wash.

I used the Cuttlebug Butterfly embossing and die-cut for the second card. The stamp on the main image is from Artistic Outpost...I love this set.

The first card was done using a background with Ranger Alcohol Inks, incorporating the Alcohol Ink Float technique, then I ran the same piece through my Big Shot machine and embossed with Stampin Up's Sizzix Texture Plates. Highlighted with a pink water-base ink to pop out the embossing. Viola another look for my card..

Belle Jardiniere, yes this stamp set from Oxford Impressions is simply breathtaking. Shelley Hickox, so nicely enabled me to purchase this set. I have to say Shelley... does such beautiful work and always inspires me in retail therapy. What can I say, I am a weak person.

One of my favorite techniques is Alcohol Ink Float from Technique Junkies Newsletter. Ann Clack is the inventor of this technique and she hit the gold mine with these Ranger Alcohol Inks.I went on a bender one night and made about fifty backgrounds.

Welcome to Blogger's Challenge this week we had to follow a Sketch....I did a scrapbook layout of my Brand New Grandson..he is so adorble.

Have you ever scrapbooked a layout and you see when you are finally all finished, what you should of and could of done..?This is one of those layouts for me...I have to be happy that I completed one..as I tend to be too fussy. I am pleased with the photo and that is most important.
The Patterned Paper is by Cosmo Cricket, the "Twist and Shout' line: Get Happy-Snappy and Lucky.
The Scallop Circles and Jounaling title are die-cuts from my Cricut Expression machine, using the Graphically Speaking Cartridge....I would have to say, this one is my most used Cartridges, especially for the boy layouts.
Cardstock is from Stampin Up: Night of Navy and Tangerine Tango
Ink: I wisped the edges of navy scallop and stars with Wisper White Craft Ink..and the patterned Circle with Tangerine Tango Ink.

Baby Scrapbook Layouts - Technique's Galore

Hello fellow readers and bloggers, today I have to share with you a two-page layout I did of my newly born grandson...Yes he was Weyburn, Saskatchewan's New Year's Baby. Isn't he a sweetie and what proud parents he has.

I wanted my first layout of my grandson, to be grandma's own handi-work with my own creations I have done; by means of art mediums and Techniques from Pat's Stamp's Technique Junkies.. (and, there are a lot of techniques on this page..)

The Soft Suede Cardstock by Stampin Up, was distressed and stamped using the techique Faux Designer Paper, and retired stamp set by Stampin Up called Stars and Swirls. I also did the edges of Cardstock, in the ever-so-popular Technique Junkie technique called " Burnt Edges".

The 81/2 x11 background, is Stampin Up's White glossy cardstock implementing another Technique Junkie creation called Painted Pigments (with Alcohol)...

I told ya, I had a lot of different methods to get these two pages launched...are ya tired yet..!!!!

The tree, the fence and the white jounaling titles are all die-cuts from my Cricut Expression; using the "Heritage" cartridge...I am lovin that cartridge.

For the tree, I used Stampin Up Soft Suede Cardstock and Crushed Curry. I altered and enchanced this die-cut using another TJ method called "Dabbed Shimmers"... I applied this technique to the shadow background of the tree and also for the fence.

Now for the last techie..I just had to fill in those spaces on the die-cut tree imploring yet another TJ method of explicit art, called "Pieced Zines". I promise you once you try this technique you will become a magazine horder...

Artist Trading Cards - Technique Junkies

Hello bloggers, hope to find you all having a great weekend and enjoying the weather. To my Amercian readers, I anticipate the snow fall has subsided and you are resuming a normal life.

I have two Artist Trading Cards which I shall send to Juliet on our Technique Junkies Group.

These two cards are the my rendition of Pat's Stamps Oil Pastel Gesso..technique

The stamps are from Magenta which is Canadian company(whoaaa Hoo) and Tim Holtz Artist Trading Card Stamps.

The background on both cards was done on photo matt board. A very talented lady from the Weyburn area, Elaine Larsen, cuts these for me to size...Elaine is an awesome designer in mounting and framing.

Valentines Theme for Blogger's Challenge

Lolla won our hearts when she arrived at Christmas this year..A new puppy for my grandchildren. Thank goodness the little creature is at their house. I decided to scrap this picture for the Valentines Challenge, it does not get any better than "Puppy Love"...

I traced the Heart free hand and sponged with the new Stampin Up In Colour "Mambo Melon" ink.
The Patterned Paper is from the new Basic Grey Line called 'Sugar Rush'. I used the patterned pieces called: Air Head, Nerds and Lolipop. The embellishments at the bottom of the layout are Chipboard Stickers made for the Sugar Rush line. The name 'LOLLA' are alphas from Basic Grey, Beckham - (micro-chip stickers-dark chocolate chip). The journaling title at the top, are dies cut from Sizzix Sizzlet's Die Decorative Alpha Strips: Wingo Zingo and Naturally Seriff. I really love these die cuts when you have small areas to journal a title.

Artist Trading Cards

Here are a couple views of my Artist Trading Cards. I have to say, I am new to the world of Artist Trading Cards. I find myself stuggling to acquire the skill to create on a much smaller scale. I met a wondeful group of ladies through the Weyburn Art's Council who create and trade their spectacular work....so I can blame them for my new AAH(Art Addiction Hobby) which is similar to ADD...I have that also...lol

This particular Artist Trading Card was made for a swap on the Gingerwood ATC group. I loved the technique and I decided to make some more and send along to our artist trading gal with the Technique Junkies Group.
I incorporated two different techniques...from TJNL (Technique Junkies Newsletter). I have been a paid subscriber and group member for many years. These two particular techniques are called Antique glimmer and Cuttlebug Highlights.

Good day to my faithful readers. It's Friday and that means time for blogger's challenge. Our list mom, Lisa Sommerville gave us a color challenge for this week. We are to incorporate the colors of Red, black and white in what we crafting . You can click HERE to view more artistic creations of other challenge players.

I found this challenge somewhat limiting me due to my recent hand surgery and really wondered what I could create. Lucky for me, synchonocity was on my side, as the first container of patterned paper I opened contained all the goodies I needed and there was the perfect photo just laying on top.

This layout is special to me, as it represents the amusing entertainment that occurs when we get together as a family. The photo was taken at Christmas of my daughter, (who was getting very tired of being pregnant)....She and her grandmother were performing for us, having fun comparing the size of their stomachs...My little mother is so much fun.

The large black matt was cut from my Cricut Machine, I believe it was the Home Accents cartridge.

The flowers in the corner are manufactured by Prima - Alabaster in the Abby line and also Fiesta. I love how it matches the design in my daughter's blouse.

The rhinestones are form Heid Swapp: Ruby Accents and Crafts: Rhinestones.

The red, black and white Cardstock is from Stampin Up

The background was distressed to subdue the brightness of the white cardstock and provide more color harmony by using grey and red Stampin Up Pigment inks.

Stampin Up's Scratch Background stamp and their distress wheels are just perfect for the grungy look. In the past I would habitually distress my backgrounds by hand via swiping the cardstock with inkpads; I love these stamps to achieve this process..

Blogger's Challenge - Theme Birthday

A week sure does fly by; it is already Friday and time for blogger's challenge. This week, our theme is Birthday cards. I chose to create masculine cards, which is always a challenge for me.

I used four different sets of diecuts on these cards, the ship is stamped on the Stampin Up Top Note Sizzix Die Cut. The border trim and salutation background are dies are from Nestabilities.

I created the background using a technique from Pat's Stamps Technique Junkie newsletter..called "Ancient Paper". I have to say, this resource, is my favorite stamping cookbook.

The stamps for these two cards are now retired. The ship is from an old set called 'Ships A'hoy. I am grateful to be a proud owner of this stamp set. You will have to pry this collection from my cold dead hands; as I will never sell my old classic stamps. My heart aches for this era of vintage stamps to return to the classic Stampin Up line. Hopefully these retired sets are safely tucked away in the cupboards of caring and like-minded stampers.

Caregiver's with a Heart

Today is Friday and it's Blogger's Challenge; our list mom, Lisa Sommerville, gave us the task of incorporating die cuts and punches..in our crafty creations.

Click HERE and you can view the list of the other challenge player's designs. I can promise, you will be amazed by the array of diversity and imaginative ways to use die cuts and punches.

My Scrapbook layout is of my friend Sandy; who came to our family several years ago as a caregiver for my father-in-law. This day, has always been strongly impressed in my mind; as I had no idea how this gal, so glamously clad in western attire, would have such a positive impact on my family. Her personality could light up a gymnasium.

As I was creating this layout, it came to mind, how our society hero-worships athletes, movie stars and politions. We pay very little homage to the 'Mother Theresases' of the world.

My scrapbook layout is a tribute to 'The Caregivers'....without their fortitude of strength and selflessness, this world would be in much despair.

Sandy is one of a kind...

Supplies Used:

I used Stampin Up Cardstock for the Background and the diecut flowers.. I colorized the Sizzix Bigz diecuts with Glimmer Mist spray.

Patterned paper is from Basic Grey, the Stella Ruby line and Basic Grey Holy Cow Rubons.

I also incorporated some Digital journaling.

Blogger's Challenge 'Pink, Brown and White'

This week's challenge if to use the colors: Pink, Brown and White......I did four layouts basically the same for my children's scrapbooks..using these colors.

This layout is of my parents who were married in 1954...I was born in 1955, boy that was close..

I added a couple Digital brushes and writing in some empty spaces where I still have to do some journaling.

The die cuts were cut from my pazzles machine. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and an older line, but still one of my favorites called Stella Ruby.

I stamped on the silk flowers, painted the chipboard and very tediously glued the rhinestones with crystal effects. Yes I glued the Rhinestones on all four layouts, that will be a first and last of that crafting experience..

I have been MIA for a while due to surgery on my hand. I am still not back to stamping much and my room is getting lonely.

I did a little photo shoot of my grandson and daughter playing in the leaves....the photos really highlight the energy of a mother and son playing. This is the reason I love to scrapbook.

The scrapbook Designer Series Paper I used, is from the Stampin Up Holiday mini, called Autumn Meadows....I have a lot of fall pictures and found the shades of blues and browns to be extremely complimentartary...there is also a yummy stamp set that goes with the paper...Autumn Splendor..

I incorporated paper pieceing cuts from my Big Shot Bigz Dies..the words 'FALL and EXLORE' are die cuts from the new Bigz Die set called "Simple Letters". What's not to love about another exciting Bigz die - Lattice, which I used behind the photo of my daughter. I cut all the pieces out of chipboard and covered with Cardstock or painted with pigment inks. Nary a piece of chipboard goes into my garbage can.

I am using a scrapbook layout....need to get those pictures scrapped. This page is of my grandson, who loves the outdoors and his bike. I found it a little hard to follow the sketch exactly, and aligning the circle to the right made it much easier to use the picture for my focal point. The larger letters are just perfect as borders and embellishing around the photo. I love to embellish using word-art on my layouts for the male gender.

The word-art are was die cuts from an electronic machine and patterned paper from another craft source.

Cardstock is from Stampin Up: Red Riding Hood Red (retired), Tempting Turquoise, Pumkin Pie, Real Red, Old Olive.

Ink: sponged edges of cardstock and word 'OUTSIDE' with Craft Black. I distressed the background red Cardstock with a a retired distressing wheel by Stampin Up using white craft ink. This is a technique I use when I want to subdue the brightness of my color.

I chose to do a scrapbook layout of my grandaughrer....such a stunning picture of her sitting and smiling in my garden.

Designer series patterned paper is by Stampin up "Razzleberry Lemonade" a new series for this year. The background on Elegant Egplant cardstock was stamped with stamps from Circle Circus and Razzle Dazzle using White pigment ink...I edged the cardstock with Rich Razzleberry ink from the new In Color line.
Chipboard frame,,, is from the Onboard Batch of Blooms Chipboard Collection...lots of goodies to play with in this pack...I adore this frame covered with patterned paper and the edge stamped.
The chipboard words, jewels and flowers are from other craft companies...

It was long overdue to pull out my Stampin Up's Designer Series Paper packs..Urban Oasis and Raspberry Tart were the two series I used. These two paper lines are now retired. I know there are an unusual combination, but I love how it meshed together for this theme.

This is a layout of my grandaughter and it really brought to light how she is growing and blooming into a young lady.

A double page layout of my grandson...I clearly captured his clown personality..These two layouts are part of my guest design team work for Scrapbooking Fanatics....More of the Sassafrass Lass - Me Likey paper...whoa........it was bright and a challenge..

If you look closely I masked various pieces with Black Cardstock. I find this helps immensly to mesh all the bright colors together.

Pinking edge circles were die cuts from Nestabilities...The felt trim is from a Canadian company called Magenta, Basic Grey chipboard and die cuts from my Cricut by Provo Craft.
